I grew up in Norman, Oklahoma where I live with my husband. I have 2 older brothers and 1 older sister. I went to Langston University where I earned degrees in early education, special education, child development, and a Masters in urban education. In my free time I like to clean and organize my house, watch home improvement shows, hang out with friends and family, sleep, and eat. Working with children is something that come easy to me. I love to watch students grow and develop. I push myself and teachers to not only teach curriculum but to teach those very important social skills needed in life. Early education is more than preparation for primary school. It aims the development of children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs in order to build a solid and broad foundation for lifelong learning and wellbeing. Being able to providing a quality early education experience, is a big goal at First Step Academy Too. I would like to thank all the families that allowed me to be part of their children’s life and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Your Little Hands Are In Great Hands!
Take it from our Parents
I want to start off by saying I give Jennifer’s center five starts and highly recommend her and her teachers. I enrolled my first kiddo just before he turned two, we were nervous as he’d been in care of his grandma while his dad and I worked up until that point. The way I found Jennifer’s center was so random and unexpected but I’m so thankful I did. Not only did we enroll our first son, but we also enrolled our newborn 8 week old son a year later. I trusted Jennifer and her ways of running the center. We felt welcomed and I felt my kids were truly taken care of and loved. We weren’t a super “easy” or laid back family to deal with (first time parents, breastfed babies, reusable diapers, and anything else that would require extra steps). They went ABOVE and BEYOND. My kids were so incredibly comfortable with her and I adore her. I am so grateful my family was under her care for over 3 total years.

My kiddos have been going to "Mrs. Jennifer's" for several years now. They love it - and so do I. As a parent, I know how hard it is to trust someone with your kids. From Day 1, I felt that the director, Jennifer Othmani, was knowledgeable, dependable, caring, and trustworthy. I feel good every time I leave my kids in the care of her and the staff at First Step Academy. And they always come home with smiles on their faces!

First Step Academy Too came highly recommended by a friend. From day one, Jennifer Gatewood and the rest of the First Step Academy Too family have shown our two children kindness, personal attention, and nurturing with an emphasis on independence in their daily routines. Our girls excitedly look forward to attending and return home having learned new skills and chattering about the adventures they had each day. FSAT has an engaged staff and we attribute this to Jennifer’s leadership and guidance. Transitioning to school was made easy due to the structure and programs offered at FSAT and it's a great comfort that we continue to be a part of the FSAT family by returning during holiday and summer breaks.
Thank you, First Step Academy Too, for giving our children a warm, welcoming, and creative home away from home. We are grateful to be able to return to work while knowing our girls are nurtured, happy, and learning in your care.
The Beaulieu Family
My daughter previously attended First Step Academy Too. She went part time before elementary school to get some interaction with other children her age. She had the best time, made great friends, and learned so much. She is currently in 1st grade and still uses great habits that she learned from her time there. We love First Step and the director!
